For the final field trip of the year, Summit County wildfire mitigation and forest management agencies will be visiting the 2024 Wellington Fire scar. We will discuss suppression operations when firefighting crews first got on the scene and how fire was influenced by the 2021 fuel treatment.

This field trip is FREE and open to the public, but registration is required. This is the last of four Wildfire Council Fieldtrips scheduled this summer.

Meet at Reiling Road and Wellington Road in Breckenridge. We will carpool or hike to the fire scar from there.

Dress comfortably for the weather, and wear good walking shoes as there may be some hiking/uneven terrain.
