Description

This hike will open for registration on July 1st.

-- Missed the July Hike? Join us in August! (It will be a repeat of July)--

Watching birds adds greater dimension to our outdoor experience. Birds always seem to fascinate - such variety, the ability to fly, surprising colors and beautiful songs. Naturalists Mark and Ginger Rubash will lead us on this easy to moderate trail (3-4 miles, about 800 feet elevation gain) as we look and listen for the feathered summer residents of Summit County. We will explore the life history of the more common encounters, and we will touch on some interesting features of avian biology. Don't forget your binoculars!

Location: Meet at the Salt Lick trailhead in Wildernest / Silverthorne (here)

Time: 8:00 am, returning to the trailhead by noon
