Join Eric Erslev for an FDRD kayak tour! Eric, a former geology professor at CSU and UWyo, will lead tour attendees on a kayak/canoe trip that will start and end at the Frisco Marina. FDRD will rent a kayak for the attendees for the morning. We will hug the coastline, tracing out the geologic moraines laid down by repeated incursions of ice from the Ten mile River valley. On the way, we will observe the wildlife that call Lake Dillon home, discuss the complicated network of dams, rivers and tunnels that provide critical water resources for communities from the east slope of Colorado to California, and the potential impacts of climatic changes.

FDRD will be renting a limited number of kayaks for the morning from 9-12pm. You can use that kayak or, if you would prefer to bring your own kayak/canoe, please let marin@fdrd.org know so we can open a spot for another participant.

We will meet at the Frisco Bay Marina at 8:45am to briefly go over kayak safety with the marina workers before getting on the water at 9am. We will be back to the marina no later than noon.

If the weather is unsafe - June 29th will be our backup date!

Our mountain weather can change from warm and dry to cold and wet in a hurry!
