Description
We are partnering with Summit County Open Space and Blue River Watershed group to particpate in willow planting along the Swan River in Breckenridge. Project work will involve walking along the banks of Swan River and planting locally harvested willow stakes in the outside bends of the channel. This will aid in bank stabilization and overall revegetation of the riparian habitat. Volunteers should be prepared to walk over uneven ground and potentially do some shallow wading. Rubber boots could be helpful for wading. We will be working very close to the river edge at a high water time, therefore we discourage bringing small children to the event. We are closely monitoring this site to ensure we can complete the task safely.
